If you purchase these items, you’ll be rewarded the $2.00 when your transaction is complete. It will be on your receipt at the bottom. Extra Care Bucks

First you must get your ExtraCare Card. The goal with CVS is to “roll” your ECB’s to make your out of pocket (OOP) the lowest possible cost. You do this typically by using the ECB’s earned from one transaction to pay for the next weeks shopping trip.

You may also get CVS coupons for items that print at the bottom of your receipt. You can stack these coupons, this means you can use 1 CVS coupon and 1 manufacturer’s coupon on the same item. There can also be discount say $5.00 of purchase of $10.00. You can use all 3 Example: Hand in

Covergirl Makeup 12.99

  • $5.00 off  $10 purchase
  • CVS coupon $2.00
  • Manufacturer coupon $1.00
  • Receive back ECB’s of $4.00
  • Final cost $0.99

IT WORKS ITS EASY!!
Othere Examples:

Making money at CVS can be very easy! Every week there is a promotion where you will earn the same amount of  ECB (Extra Care Bucks) that you spend. Here is how to “Roll”

Here is an example:

This one is in the ad this week 2/21 2/27 2010

Colgate Max Fresh or Max White, On Sale $2.99 Get $2.00 ECB’s (limit 2)
Use $1.00 coupon
Pay $1.99 out of pocket after coupon
You’ll earn $2 in ECB’s from this deal
Final Free

Then do your next transaction:

Scope White / Outlast Mouthwash, On Sale $3.99 Get $3.00 ECB’s (limit 3) Use $1.00 coupon
Use your $2 ECB’s from first transaction
Pay just $.99 after -
(plus at bottom of receipt you will have another $3.00 ECB’s to spend on next purchase.)

When I’m shopping at CVS I don’t just buy one item, I buy whats on my list.
Sometimes I may receive $20 in ECB’s or more or less. Then on my next shopping trip I use all my ECB’s To get my OOP to almost Free. I have had totals or 22c, So bring some change with you. One of my first shopping trips and CVS my total before coupons was $65 then after all the coupon my OOP was 22c. Needless to say I was digging in my purse for 22c, and there was a long line.  Anyway back to the 101 Smile

B1G1F sales – you can use 2 MFC coupons on a buy-one-get-one-free sale.
For example:
Max Factor Mascara $7.99 B1G1F
Use (2) $3.00 off MFC
Total = $1.99 for both

For example:
Colgate Toothpaste $2.99
Earn $2.99 ECB wyb 1
Use $1.00 off MFC
Total = $1.00 overage after coupon and ECB

Just think of ECB”s as Cash!!

The Best order to hand in your coupons:

  • Scan your card first
  • $10 off purchase of $30 (Your total needs to be $30, Once you hand in your Manufacture coupons it wont be)
  • CVS coupons (That printed from the in store kiosk or from bottom of receipt of last shopping trip)
  • Manufacturer’s coupons
  • ECB’s

Other things to know about CVS

Quarterly ECBs: You will earn 2 percent for every $25 you spend (after coupons) per quarter. Quarterly ECBs print out on the first day of the month after the end of the quarter. They use calendar quarters (Jan – March, April-June, etc).

Limit one: Make sure you pay attention to the limit (limit is only 1 per customer).  Your ECB card keeps track of this no matter what store your at. You can only get one ECB’s for that item one time. At Walgreens you can purchase as many as you want, just as long as it’s a separate transaction. At Walgreens I almost always have 2 transactions to stock up.

You have any questions Post them.

Enjoy your ECB’s!!!!
